Basic Computers for Scaredy Cats - Jim Christenson

This popular hands-on class is for beginners! Learn basic computer terminology - in plain English, what a computer is and how it works, how to get started using a computer, how to use a mouse, keyboard and windows environment. $25  

Introduction to Computers - Gerry Eisele
September 29, 30, October 1 & 2, 2008
10:00-12:00 noon
If you mastered the skills in the "Scaredy Cats" class, this is your next step. In his low-key manner, Gerry will teach you the fundamentals of Windows XP. Learn how to use the Desktop, Taskbar, Start menu, etc. You also will learn basic survival skills of word processing, file management and a short overview of the Internet. $35 

Discovering the Power of Word - Jane Quitney
October 6, 7, 8 & 10, 2008
10:00-12:00 noon
Microsoft Word is a basic processing program but it can do so much more. Come and review those basics such as changing fonts, margins, cut/copy/paste, alignment and checking your spelling. Then go beyond with the graphic possibilities of Word. Work with text boxes, word art, clip art, pictures and charts. It's all right there in Microsoft Word! $25

Picasa - Jim Christenson
October 13, 14, 16 & 17, 2008

Do you have a digital camera? This class will teach you how to copy the pictures on to your computer, edit them, catalog them, correct mistakes, print and share them with others. We will be using a free program that anyone can download from Google called Picasa. It's easy and it's FUN! $25

Anyone interested in these classes or an expanded schedule of fall classes at the Downtown Center may contact ICC's Continued Learning Center at 322-2410 to request a complete listing, or to pre-register. There are fees for most classes and pre-registration is required. Sometimes excellent courses are canceled because individuals wait until the last minute to register. Please register early!
