Supervisor Responsibilities

  1. Turn in a complete job description and request for student workers to the Financial Aid Office.

  2. Be certain that time sheets are completed accurately and that the certification statement is signed by both you and the student.  Do not sign blank time sheets!
  3. Do not let a student work until you have received the time sheet.  Hours worked before you have a time sheet will be considered volunteer hours.

  4. See that the time sheets reach the Business Office by the "due date" indicated on the Work-Study Pay Schedule.  LATE TIME SHEETS WILL RESULT IN STUDENTS NOT RECEIVING THEIR CHECKS UNTIL THE NEXT PAYROLL PERIOD.

  5. Terminate employment for students if they continue to display poor work habits even after counseling has taken place between you and the student.  Counseling is available in the Financial Aid Office also.

  6. Evaluate performance of student employees as requested by the Financial Aid Office.

  7. Make the job a realistic work experience for the students.
  8. Maintain an accurate record of Student Employment funds available and funds spent.

  9. Call the Financial Aid Office with any questions or concerns regarding student employment.
