Scholarships 
Scholarships are gift awards generally based on scholastic ability, community or school involvement, ethnic background or other related factors. Most scholarships have deadlines between November and March for the coming school year. We DO NOT recommend that you use any scholarship search service that charges a fee! Be sure to check out these scholarship tips.
Army Emergency Relief "Helping the army take care of its own."Spouse and Children Scholarship program.Applications available at: www.aerhq.org, and there are flyers about the program in the financial aid office.
Arrowhead Society of Health-System Pharmacists The Arrowhead Society of Health-System Pharmacists Scholarship ($500) was established to honor outstanding students who are interested in pursuing a degree in pharmacy. The scholarship is limited to graduates of high schools from northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin OR students currently enrolled in the UMD College of Pharmacy.
Funding Opportunity: Erma Byrd Scholarship
Program The Erma Byrd Scholarship Program provides scholarships to
individuals pursuing a course of study that will lead to a career in industrial
health and safety occupations, including mine safety. The program has a service
obligation component, which requires recipients of the scholarship to begin
employment in a career position related to industrial health and safety no later
than six months after completion of the degree program, and to continue to work
in a career position related to industrial health and safety, including mine
safety, for a period of one year. An estimated $1 million will be available for
an estimated 110 awards.
ICC Engineering Scholarships Itasca's engineering department awarded $200,000 in scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Minnesota ACHIEVE Scholarship $1200 scholarship that must be used during the academic year immediately after high school graduation. Student must have completed rigorous coursework while in high school and have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher. Student must have a $0 (zero) Expected Family Contribution (EFC) on his/her FAFSA and attend 15 or more credits per semester to qualify. Funding is limited.
Minnesota Indian Scholarship Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program provides postsecondary
financial assistance to eligible Minnesota resident students who are of
one-fourth or more Indian ancestry and demonstrate financial need for
an award. The award amount is based on need. Award maximum is $4,000 per year for undergraduate students. LIMITED FUNDING AVAILABLE! Apply early as funds run out very quickly in this program.
Minnesota Veteran Education Assistance One-time payment of up to $750 for tuition expenses. Honorable discharged veterans who entered active service from MN and have used all education benefits available from the federal government. Must be a current MN resident and attend a MN school.
Transferring?College of St. Scholastica Transfer Scholarships
$5,000+ Available for transfer students with GPA of 3.0 or higher
Southwest Minnesota State University Transfer Scholarship $500-$1000 per year for two years Must have an AA degree and GPA of 2.5 or higher
Special Attention High School Seniors
Alworth Memorial Fund Scholarships
High school seniors in northeastern Minnesota who are majoring in basic sciences. $5,000/year, renewable.
SFM Foundation SFM Foundation is a non-profit organization created to administer educational scholarships to children of workers fatally injured or seriously disabled in work related accidents.
