Scholarships 
Scholarships are gift awards generally based on scholastic ability, community or school involvement, ethnic background or other related factors. Most scholarships have deadlines between November and March for the coming school year. We DO NOT recommend that you use any scholarship search service that charges a fee! Be sure to check out these scholarship tips.
Army Emergency Relief "Helping the army take care of its own."Spouse and Children Scholarship program.Applications available at: www.aerhq.org, and there are flyers about the program in the financial aid office.
Epilepsy Foundation The Epilepsy foundation of Minnesota is pleased to announce the 2010 Elam Baer and Janis Clay Educational Scholarship program. This scholarship is in its 5th year and will award ten $1000 scholarships to students who have shown courage in dealing with epilepsy and seizures, show commitment to their education, and perseverance in eliminating the obstacles that epilepsy and seizures may present. Program The Erma Byrd Scholarship Program provides scholarships to
individuals pursuing a course of study that will lead to a career in industrial
health and safety occupations, including mine safety. The program has a service
obligation component, which requires recipients of the scholarship to begin
employment in a career position related to industrial health and safety no later
than six months after completion of the degree program, and to continue to work
in a career position related to industrial health and safety, including mine
safety, for a period of one year. An estimated $1 million will be available for
an estimated 110 awards.
ICC Engineering Scholarships Itasca's engineering department awarded $200,000 in scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Minnesota ACHIEVE Scholarship $1200-$4150 scholarship that must be used during the academic year immediately after high school graduation. Student must have completed rigorous coursework while in high school and have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher. Student must be receiving a Pell or MN State Grant and also be attending 15 or more credits per semester to qualify.
Minnesota Indian Scholarship Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program provides postsecondary
financial assistance to eligible Minnesota resident students who are of
one-fourth or more Indian ancestry and demonstrate financial need for
an award. The award amount is based on need. Award maximum is $4,000 per year for undergraduate students. LIMITED FUNDING AVAILABLE! Apply early as funds run out very quickly in this program.
Minnesota Veteran Education Assistance One-time payment of up to $750 for tuition expenses. Honorable discharged veterans who entered active service from MN and have used all education benefits available from the federal government. Must be a current MN resident and attend a MN school.
North Suburban Communications Commission Annual Scholarship Scholarship applications for communications students are now available from the North Suburban Communications Commission for anyone living in the ten-city (Metro) area who has completed at least one year of college or vocational programs. SFM Foundation Scholarship SFM Foundation is a nonprofit foundation offering college scholarships to children of working parents who have been killed or injured in the course of working for a Minnesota or Wisconsin employer. A qualifying student will be eligible to receive up to $5,000 per year and can receive scholarships annually through graduation from a two- or four-year technical school, college or university. 2010 Talbots Scholarship Foundation The Talbots Scholarship Foundation will award $180,000 in college scholarships for the 2010 academic year, including up to 10 $15,000 scholarships and one $30,000 scholarship to an extraordinary finalist demonstrating courage, conviction and an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit. To be eligible you must be female and have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 2000. More information and an application is available here.
