Employment Opportunities in Geography & GIS

The outlook for employment in the fields of Geography and Geographic Information Systems is excellent.  Private and government agencies have begun to recognize the unique spatial-temporal perspective geographers bring to help explain complex, multi-disciplinary processes affecting human institutions and natural systems.  Geographers may find themselves employed in a variety of settings not limited to urban/regional planners, transportation analysts, business consultants, land use analysts, environmental managers, cartographers, remote sensing specialists, and geographic information systems coordinators. There are a variety of organizations that post Geography and GIS related employment opportunities.  See: GIS Jobs or GIS Jobs Clearinghouse, to get started.
