Marty Christensen - Wildland Firefighting Instructor
Education: Bachelor of Science, Animal Science and Speech Communications and Master of Science, Forestry, University of Minnesota.
Previous Employment: Marty recently retired from
the US Forest Service after a 30 year career. He worked in fire and
timber management with the Forest Service in Alaska, New Hampshire,
Montana and Minnesota. Marty remains a National Recruiter for the
Forest Service and also serves as an Information Officer during fire
emergencies throughout the US.
Harry Hutchins - Natural Resources Instructor
Education: Bachelor of Science, Wildlife Management and Bachelor of Science, Forestry Management, Michigan State University; Master of Science, Forest Ecology, Utah State University.
Previous Employment: Natural Resources Instructor,
College of Ganado on Navajo Indian Nation (Arizona); Michigan DNR
Forester; Research Forest Ecologist in western mountains of the U.S.
and NE China.
Brad Jones - Natural Resources Instructor
Education: Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources with an emphasis on Silviculture and Ecosystems from the University of Minnesota; Master of Science in Forest Resources/Silviculture, with supporting work in Forest Soils, Forest Genetics and Statistics. Previous Employment: Brad retired from public land management in 2007 after a 26 year career. Employment history includes Staff Forester and District Forester for Itasca County Land Department; Silviculturist for St. Louis County; Inventory forester for Boise Cascade Corporation; Forest inventory and aerial photo interpretation for Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Division of Waters; Inventory forester, and teaching and research assistant for University of Minnesota.

Joline Leone - Natural Resources College Lab Assistant
Education: Associate in Applied Science, Natural Resource Technology, Vermilion Community College (Minnesota)
Previous Employment: GIS/GPS, forest inventory, permanent plot establishment as a seasonal Forestry/GIS Technician, Itasca County Land Department; Research Plot Technician, University of Minnesota, assisting in the development and maintenance of tree research plots and plantings; over 20 years of other forest technician experience including timber cruising and scaling, plantation surveys, tree planting and commercial tree nursery work.
Mike Aultman - MN DNR Instructor
Biography: Mike Aultman is employed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and helped develop the ICC Wildland Firefighting Program. He continues to team-teach many of the College fire classes through a partnership agreement. Mike has over 28 years of fire experience traveling all over the continental US and Alaska on fire assignments. He is currently the Incident Commander for one of the three Minnesota Interagency Fire Teams.
Ken Soring - MN DNR Instructor
Biography: Ken Soring is the Region 2 Manager for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
