Fitness Center

Itasca’s Fitness Center, located in Mullins Hall, is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of users. Many pieces of equipment are provided for increasing aerobic fitness, and weight training machines and free weights are also available. Itasca Community College students are eligible for discounted YMCA student memberships based upon the number of credits for which they are registered. These passes are purchased by the semester and are nonrefundable. Memberships are sold at the Business Office for a limited time at the beginning of each semester.

Although the college does not have a choir at this time, there are opportunities for students to rehearse and perform with choral ensembles (some for credit) in the Grand Rapids area, such as the Itasca Choral Society. Students are also encouraged to participate in other choral and instrumental groups as well such as the Itasca Orchestral Society and the Blandin Men's Chorus. Students also have the opportunity to take applied music lessons in voice, piano, strings and guitar.

Spring Thaw, a literary and arts magazine published yearly at ICC, features creative works by students and adult residents of area communities. An editorial board made up of ICC students examines submissions to determine pieces to be published, designs the publication, oversees its production, and hosts a public reading of the work.
