Engineering student life activities, as well as many campus-wide student activities and clubs, are a vital part of the Engineering Program at Itasca Community College.
Here are some glimpses of student life activity from the Engineering Community.
Annual Pie Run:The Annual pie run consists of the choice to run 3.14 miles, or walk 3.14 kilometers. Students, faculty and staff, and participating community members enjoy made-from-scratch pie following the event.
P3 (Pedal, Paddle, Portage): Students team up with a partner to pedal the distance, Paddle a length of the Mississippi, and Portage the long drive to our instructor Bart Johnson's house to relax with a traditional BBQ.
Engineering Trips: Visit companies, and experience engineering environments. The group to the right tours a new convention center site in its beginning stages. The students will tour this site again and visit with the engineers prior to all systems being enclosed and the final touches that take place before opening
Engineering Basketball League: The engineering basketball league is a time-honored tradition. Students make up 4 to 5 teams and play one night a week from late January to spring break. The faculty and staff support a team as well, hoping to withstand their sometimes younger opponents.
Winter Fun: Students find fun in many ways...
This is only a glimpse of the many activities engineering students do to relax and have a little fun.
