Online CoursesOnline learning is new to most students.
Before you decide to take an online course, you may want to know more
about online learning and if distance learning will work for you. Minnesota Online is a good resource for information if you are considering online classes.
Itasca's Fall 2008 online classes include:
Theory classes for the Practical Nursing Program, which also require students to be in Grand Rapids one weekend a month to complete the clinical portion of the program.
Also offered:
- Biology 2101 & 2102: Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II (The lecture is online; students come to campus for the lab.)
- Natural Science 1101: Environmental Science
- PE 1136: Weight Training (The class will meet two days during the semester.)
- History 1131: American History through the Civil War
ApplicationBefore you can register for an online class, you need to complete the application process. You can apply online and pay the $20 application fee. Itasca will also need the following:
- An official copy of your high school transcript or GED (if high school diploma or GED was obtained in the past five years).
- Official copies of any and all previous college transcripts. (This includes any college credit earned in high school.)
- If you do not have previous college math or English courses, you will also need to take the college placement test.
Transcripts should be mailed to the Itasca Community College Admissions and Records Office, 1851 East Highway 169, Grand Rapids, MN 55744.
CostDifferential tuition is applied to all courses delivered fully online. Note that fully online is defined as a course meeting no more than three times face to face.
Online classes are an additional $25 per credit. In Fall 2008, the cost of an online class is $175 per credit. Online tuition amounts vary for resident students and non Minnesota residents.
